NEW IN: Pixi's Botanical Collagen Range

* Contains Gifted Products *

This week I had a very exciting parcel arrive full of Pixi products that I've never tried before. Now, I'm going to assume that they've sent me the collagen range because I'm soon to be the big 2-5 and not because I'm looking a little haggard... But yes, these aren't new in products but I thought I'd share them in case, like me, you've not heard much about this range before...

NEW IN: Pixi's Botanical Collagen Range

Botanical Collagen Tonic* - £18

This is a volumising tonic that helps to smooth fine lines and improve uneven skin texture. It contains Acacia Collagen, Peptides, and Coconut Water. It is also alcohol and paraben-free. This, you apply all over the face and neck with a cotton pad after cleansing but before applying serum or moisturiser. I can't report back on it's impacts yet (I've only used it once so far) but it has some fantastic reviews online...

NEW IN: Pixi's Botanical Collagen Range

Botanical Collagen Eye Serum* - £24

This product is designed to strengthen, hydrate, and brighten the eye area. It has a light-weight formula and when I tried it, it sunk into the skin almost instantly. Like the majority of the products in this range this one also contains Acacia Collagen as well as Hyaluronic Acid (to firm & hydrate) and Adenosine to soothe & smooth.

NEW IN: Pixi's Botanical Collagen Range

Botanical Collagen Lip Gloss* - £14

A collagen lip gloss? Who knew such a thing existed hey... This is a lip treatment created to volumise, replenish and nourish the lips. In their own words, it "leaves lips with a high shine finish without being sticky" and they're certainly not wrong. It's really lightweight and left my lips feeling really smooth. This product contains Acacia Collagen to volumise & rejuvenate, Peptides to tone & revitalise, and Vitamin E to nourish.

NEW IN: Pixi's Botanical Collagen Range

Volume Sheet Mask* - £10

The only product in this mini collection I  haven't tried yet is these sheet masks. They're formulated to help smooth and rejuvenate as well as promote firmer, healthier-looking skin. As well as the Collagen (of course), these sheet masks also contain Hyaluronic Acid and Peptides. You get three in the pack and they're biodegradable, win! I'm actually saving these to use with my Mum and Sister, so I'll be sure to report back with what we think of these...

So, there we have it, a look into Pixi's Botanical Collagen range. Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them? Once I've given them a fair test, if I've noticed any major improvements. to the appearance of my skin I'll be sure to report back.

So, I've now been on Roaccutane on the NHS for two whole months?! Whaaaaat. Where has that time gone? After years of problems with my skin, I genuinely cannot believe that we're actually coming out of the other side AND WE ARE GLOWING. Who'd have thought we'd see the day?

In case you're new around here and have no idea who I am or what my acne journey has been so far, I've previously written about my first month on Roaccutane which will more than get you up to speed. But, in short, I've had acne for the last seven or so years, and in 2020 I finally got referred to a dermatologist to have Roaccutane on the NHS.

A ramble about my second month of taking Roaccutane on the NHS including the side effects I've experienced and some progress pictures.

As you can see, my skin is definitely improving and I am SO pleased with how it is looking already. My face is no longer as sore and red, and for the first time in a good few years, it's actually looking smooth??

Now, during the first month of treatment, my lips and the skin around my nose was SO dry. I'm talking flaking off in chunks and could probably have been served on top of pasta and called parmesan kinda dry. But, I'm very fortunate that this has very much calmed down, and besides some expected dryness to the lips, I'm really not suffering with any superrrrr dry skin at the moment!

I've mentioned it before, but I recently updated my Roaccutane skincare routine and I feel like I've finally found a good combination of products that are working for me, so I definitely also attribute some of my skin success to them too.

One bizarre side effect I did have over the course of last month was bleeding gums. Now, this isn't something I've ever had before but for a couple of days, my gums were bleeding when I brushed my teeth. They weren't hurting at all, I'd just notice it when I spat the toothpaste out. Fortunately, this hasn't happened again since!

On the topic of things I'd never had before Roaccutane: eczema. About three weeks into my treatment I started developing eczema on the backs of my hands and up my arms. Now, we can't fully blame the Roaccutane for this, seeing as we're currently amidst a pandemic and all washing our hands far more than usual, but I'm pleased to report that the eczema has very much calmed down and is now more than manageable.

Two more things I'd like to mention in this update; my hair doesn't get as greasy as it once did and I'm able to go daaays without it being desperate for a wash, wahey, but, I'm still getting some muscle soreness after exercise, boo. If/when I do a particularly strenuous workout, I find that my limbs really ache for far longer than usual, so I'm still sticking to doing things a little less impactful.

At 6 weeks I had a blood test, and my results all came back clear, meaning I got the green light to continue with the treatment. My mood has also been absolutely fine meaning my dermatologist suggested upping my dose to 60mg as this should reduce my treatment time without disrupting things too much!

I had a bit of a palaver trying to get my next supply of tablets, but am happy to report that it's now been sorted and the next prescription is currently being written. The current plan is to take 60mg of Isotretinoin for the next three months and then go back and see the dermatologist for a review after that.

And there we have it, my second month on Roaccutane. Again, it's not been anywhere near as bad as I was expecting and I'm very pleased with the results so far... I cannot wait to see how it's all looking in three months' time! I try and post weekly video updates on my Instagram story, so if you'd like to follow my Roaccutane journey even more, that is definitely the place to go...

Ooooh, what have we got here then? Enter Pixi's latest release; the Retinol and Jasmine Collection. Designed to renew and rejuvenate, this is a collection that I'm particularly excited to try. This range consists of six products which retail for between £18 and £26 and can be purchased online at Pixi Beauty

Now, a quick summary for anyone that isn't crystal clear on what retinol is, how it works, or what it's used for. Retinol is a form of Vitamin A, and helps speed up skin renewal leading to a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. It is also known to improve skin tone and reduce pigmentation, and does this by increasing collagen production in the body, not via exfoliation! (Apologies if I've missed anything or phrased something incorrectly but this girl tried her best!)

I was kindly gifted all of the products in this post, but as always, that doesn't impact my opinion.

A First Look At: Pixi's Retinol and Jasmine Collection for renewing and rejuvenating the skin.

Pixi's Retinol and Jasmine Collection

Retinol Jasmine Cleanser* - £18.00

This creamy cleanser contains three stand-out ingredients; retinol to smooth the skin, jasmine oil which is an anti-inflammatory, and ceramides which help to lock-in moisture. This Retinol Jasmine Cleanser removes all impurities for smoother, firmer and more radiant-looking skin, and should be rinsed off with water.

Retinol Tonic* - £18.00

Another Pixi toner, but will this one live up to the hype of the cult-favourite Glow Tonic? This one contains time-release retinol to smooth and refine, elderflower to soften and brighten, and chamomile to calm and minimize redness. This claims to lead to a smoother, softer appearance while soothing sensitive skin.

Jasmine Oil Blend* £26.00

Designed to use in the morning, this treatment consists of jasmine flower extract to rejuvenate and calm, evening primrose to help boost circulation, and grape seed oil to nourish. According to Pixi, this helps repair damage as well as calm and restore stressed and unbalanced skin.

Overnight Retinol Oil* - £26.00

The evening counterpart for the Jasmine Oil Blend, this oil contains time-release retinol to smooth and refine, peptides to firm and revitalize, and ceramide NP to lock-in moisture. These ingredients all help to restore skin plumpness and improve the appearance of fine lines and pores.

Retinol Jasmine Lotion* - £24.00

This lightweight moisturiser contains retinol to smooth and refine, peptides to firm and revitalise, and jasmine oil to nourish and brighten.

Retinol Eye Cream* - £22.00

According to Pixi, this eye cream is formulated to improve elasticity, smooth & protect the delicate skin around the eye area. It contains time-release retinol to smooth and refine, caffeine to depuff and energize, and peptides to firm and revitalize.

So there we have it, Pixi's new Retinol and Jasmine Collections... It all sounds pretty good, doesn't it! In case you were interested in reading about some of Pixi's other collections, I've previously written posts about Pixi's Vitamin C Range and their 20 Years of Glow.

Have you ever used retinols?

A First Look At: Pixi's Retinol and Jasmine Collection for renewing and rejuvenating the skin.

I've been taking Roaccutane for seven weeks now and I cannot believe the results I'm seeing already. My skin has always been pretty terrible, and if it's not covered with active breakouts, it's covered with scars. I'm quite a pale human and so it's fair to say I scar fairly easily and visibly...

The last few weeks I've been on Roaccutane I've been stepping up my skincare routine as my skin is nowhere near as dry, sore, or sensitive as it was when I first started the treatment. I've been gradually adding some of my old staple products back into my routine and I definitely think they're contributing to the accelerated progress I'm seeing with my skin. A few of these products didn't even make it into my Roaccutane Skincare Edit post a few weeks ago, which shows how much things have changed around here in such a short space of time!

My updated roaccutane skincare routine - a run through of the products I'm loving whilst on isotretinoin.

My Updated Roaccutane Skincare Routine

Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser

Now, I can't say I've ever tried the cult classic Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, but this Superdrug offering is, in my opinion, a great hot cloth cleanser. Consistency-wise, it's thick and creamy - almost like a moisturiser - making it perfect for Roaccutane-dried skin. Now, I haven't been wearing a full face of makeup, but, any products I have been wearing this cleanser has been removing thoroughly and gently. It costs just under a fiver and I use it morning and evening as the first step in my skincare routine, bargain.

Pixi Glow Tonic*

A product that needs absolutely no introduction nor explanation, an absolute hero within the skincare community. I didn't think I'd ever be able to use this whilst on Roaccutane, but, where I'm still not at the full dose, my skin really has calmed down and is able to tolerate this! Rather than aggressively rub it around my face on a cotton pad like I used to, I now gently press it into the skin and it isn't uncomfortable at all. I apply this as part of my evening skincare routine as I stick to a very simple 3 step routine in the mornings!

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum*

Wow. I like this stuff a lot. But, at £81.50 a bottle, I'm not surprised it's fantastic. It's a super light serum that always leaves my skin feeling fresh and looking bright. Again, I only tend to use this in the evenings, as the third step in my routine.

Bioderma Sebium Hydra

If you're currently taking Roaccutane and only want to try one of the products from this post, I highly recommend checking this moisturiser out. It's formulated specifically for 'acne-prone skin ultra-dry due to treatments', and err hello? Isn't that perfect... It's a really light, non-sticky consistency but still packs a whole lot of moisture and always leaves my poor dry skin looking glowing. At just over a tenner it's very much purse-friendly, and I may or may not be running out of my first tube and have another two on the way.

Body Shop Skin Defence SPF 50

A product that's had a fair amount of air-time here on becc4, this one is a firm favourite. It's an extremely light, invisible when on, SPF 50 and I love it a lot. I don't know about you, but I am notttt a fan of putting your bog-standard body suncream on my face, it feels horrible and leaves a white cast. This gem does neither of things and also sinks in super quickly. It's important to always wear an SPF when on Roaccutane, regardless of whether it's sunny or cloudy, so this is one I don't mind layering up day to day.

And there we have it, my updated Roaccutane skincare routine. Have you tried any of these products?

My updated roaccutane skincare routine - a run through of the products I'm loving whilst on isotretinoin.

It feels like only yesterday I was being referred to see a dermatologist and here we are, one month into my Roaccutane treatment... Where has the time gone? In case you were interested, I've written up my Roaccutane Skincare Routine now that I've found a bunch of products that are working brilliantly for me!

One month on roaccutane - my experience taking isotretinoin.

~ Quick recap in case you're new around here: I've had acne in varying severities for over 6 years and have tried a whole range of treatments. I was on lots of different antibiotics for the majority of that time (yeppppp, probably not the best move) and tried pretty much all of the topical treatments under the sun. Nothing worked and I was eventually referred to see a dermatologist. ~

When I met him for the first time he advised that Roaccutane was probably the only thing that would make a significant improvement to my skin. This didn't come as any shock at alllllll, and if anything, I'd been wanting to go on Roaccutane to finally *hopefully* see the back of the acne, the antibiotics, and all the other lotions and potions I'd been trying.

I was initially put on a 40mg dose - or two tablets - taken daily with a look to review it after the first month. I've since had this check-up and the dermatologist decided against upping the dose on account of the eczema I'd developed on my hands. Now, what with all of the extra corona handwashing etc we can't be certain it's entirely due to the Roaccutane but for the time being it definitely made the most sense not to up it again. I was advised that this might make the total length of treatment longer, but, I think I'd much rather that than try and tackle acne and eczema at the same time, especially as someone who's never had any sort of dry skin in their life.

Now, the thing you're probably all here for, the before and one-month-in photos:

One month on roaccutane - my experience taking isotretinoin.

As for the side effects, I, fortunately, haven't had anything too serious and everything has been more than manageable. I've had the expected dry skin, in particular, my lips and around my mouth, and have seen a massive reduction in oil production. Do you know what, it's great not to have a huge glistening forehead by lunchtime every day...

One thing I have noticed is just how dry the inside of my nose is. If I move my nose it constantly feels like its full of dry crusty bogeys... Sexy. Fortunately, I haven't had any nosebleeds yet, as I know they can be fairly common whilst on Roaccutane, and I can more than cope with a dry nose.

I've definitely been experiencing muscle soreness, particularly after any sort of vigorous exercise. Whilst this used to only last a day or two at most, whilst on Roaccutane this is lingering around for a lot longer. I've since decided to stop doing anything too high-impact and opt for walking/yoga to keep active. (The perfect excuse not to have to go out for a run, eh?)

And the big one, my mood. I haven't experienced any changes in my mood (despite everything going on) which I'm very very grateful for. I'm a very upbeat person and rarely get upset or down, and thankfully Roaccutane hasn't changed that. That being said, we're only a month in so let's not jinx anything...

So far the treatment is absolutely working and all of the side effects are more than manageable, so far so good!

p.s. I've even got a smooth chin for the first time in probably about 10 years - can I get a hooray?
Wowcher, two beauty related blog posts in a week! Is Becca feeling alright?! Now that I'm taking Roaccutane, I'm having to switch up all of my beauty routines and pay real attention to the products that I'm using, so I'm slowly but surely getting back into beauty products again. For a girl that has always had ridiculously oily skin, finding and using products for severely dry skin has been a real mission. For today's blog post, I thought I'd round up the products that, as of now, are always within an arm's reach; my Bedside Beauty Essentials...

Bedside Beauty Essentials - a rundown of the product I'm keeping within an arms length at all times.
Bedside Beauty Essentials - a rundown of the product I'm keeping within an arms length at all times.

Vitamin E Hydrating Mist

I featured this facial spray in my Roaccutane Skincare Edit and explained that whilst I love how it feels on the skin, I can't comment on just how hydrating it really is. That aside, it feels amazing spritzed on the skin and is a fantastic way to cool down sore, inflamed skin without touching it! Now that I'm not at work all day every day, I'm free to sit at home, spritzing this all the time!

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

A cult classic. I use this lip balm most nights before bed and it's pretty damn great. It's really thick and leaves a visible residue on the lips, so leaving it on overnight gives it plenty of time to do its thing. It's a little pricier than your usual lip balm, but definitely worth it in my opinion - I'll definitely be repurchasing it once this pot has run out!

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray

What would a bedside beauty post be without some sort of sleep spray?  Whilst I've - fortunately -never really suffered from any sort of sleeping problems, there's something so relaxing about spraying this before bed. Whilst I can't really comment on its magical sleeping powers, I can confirm that it smells great and is definitely calming if nothing else!

Clarins Moisture-Rich Body Lotion

A pretty boujee body moisturiser, this Clarins one is formulated with shea butter and feels great on the skin. It's light and not sticky at all, and sinks in almost immediately. I apply this all over my body and it seems to be doing just the trick for my super dry skin!

Burts Bees Hand Salve

Formulated for rough, dry hands, this product couldn't be more perfect for my poor hands. What with Roaccutane AND all this extra handwashing, it's fair to say my hands are far drier than usual and I've needed to step up my hand cream just a little. This product is way more of a faff than your usual squeezey hand cream which is why it permanently lives on my bedside table. Again, as a product to layer up before bed, this is perfect, but perhaps not one to lug around in your bag with you!

And there we have it, my bedside beauty essentials. What are some of yours?
My skin and I have been in a long-standing argument for the last six years or so.

I've tried allllll sorts of different things to try and help it but nothing seems to have quite done the trick. I've been on antibiotics for years, tried all sorts of topical treatments and even totally cut dairy out of my diet for a while, but no such luck. At the beginning of this year, I was finally referred to a dermatologist, who advised that Roaccutane would be the only thing that he suggested might make a difference...

Fast forward to now, I've been taking Roaccutane for two weeks and am starting to see the difference already! That being said, I'm also seeing some of the side effects, one being that my skin is SO dry. I'm talking falling off my face in chunks throughout the day sort of dry. Sexy.

So, for today's post I thought we could run through all of the skincare products that are helping my skin whilst on Roaccutane in case it might help you too!

Moisturisers

Bioderma Sebium Hydra
Okay so this is a product that is literally designed for 'acne-prone skin weakened by drying treatments' - can we hear a wahey? It's available to buy in Boots and is around £11. It's really light in texture and sinks into the skin really quickly. Oddly, it's not the most moisturising product I've ever used but is great to use in the mornings as you're heading out of the door.

Beauty Kitchen Hydra Boost Day Cream
A much thicker cream, this moisturiser contains Abyssinian Oil and leaves an almost matte finish to the skin whilst still being really hydrating. I'm yet to try any of the other products in this range but I'm definitely going to have to, I love this stuff!

- Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream*
By far the thickest, greasiest product in this roundup but I love it. I only apply this overnight or in the morning if I don't plan on going anywhere during the day as this really does turn my face into a glazed doughnut.

Lip Products

- Nuxe Reve de Miel
A cult classic, it had to be mentioned, didn't it... I slap a really thick layer of this on my lips every night before bed and always wake up with significantly smoother lips. This is a little too thick to be applying all day every day but is perfect as a lip mask of sorts overnight.

Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment*
When I don't fancy using the Nuxe lip balm, this is my other go-to overnight choice. It's more of a cream consistency and claims to firm, hydrate and restore. I love its metal applicator, it's so nice and soothing on sore, chapped lips.

Malibu Lipcare SPF 30
And here we have it, my applied-500-times-a-day lipbalm. This is my current balm of choice and it's great. It's super light but very nourishing AND it contains SPF 30. It's tropical flavour and water-resistant and is just an all-round dream to be honest.

- Dr PawPaw Original Balm
Another fantastic lip balm. It's slightly thicker in consistency, it almost looks like a gloss when it's on the lips and again leaves them feeling really smooth. A slightly cheaper option than some of the others in this list, so definitely one to look out for!

Miscellaneous

Superdrug Vitamin E Hydrating Mist
Now, I'm not all that sure how much this actually does for my skin but it feels AMAZING, so that's what matters, right? This is really cooling and soothing aka is just what my sore, angry skin is crying out for.

Dermalogica Prisma Protect SPF 30*
When on Roaccutane you have to be really careful about sun exposure. This SPF isn't sticky and sinks in without leaving a white mask - it's pretty fab. I would never use this on its own, always after a moisturiser, as it isn't particularly nourishing!

- Dermalogica Barrier Defence Booster*
I think we might just have saved the best til last... 'Concentrated oil booster soothes, nourishes and moisturizes to restore balance to sensitive skin' and it genuinely does just that. I apply this before my moisturiser and when I wake up, I almost forget that my skin is suuuper dry!

I've since written an updated Roaccutane Skincare Routine now that I'm much further into my treatment and the dryness has massively reduced!

Which are your favourite moisturing products?
~ This post contains gifted items ~

I'm sure you're all very much aware how much I love Pixi Cosmetics by now, I mean, just LOOK at these products! I was recently sent over their 20 Years Of Glow parcel so I figured for today's post we could have a look through it together, have a peek at what was included, and make some first impressions...

I've previously written a similar post on Pixi's Vitamin C Range and I am still very much loving quite a few of the products from that collection. In case you were wondering, my favourites include the Caviar Balm and the Serum, they've done great things for my skin and I love the scent!

A Look at the products in Pixi Cosmetic's 20 Years of Glow Collection.

Rose Ceramide Cream* - £24.00

Part of a range I've personally never tried before, this moisturiser claims to deliver deep, long-lasting nourishment. The ingredients to note include Rose Flower Oil for nourishment and restoration, Ceramide for time-release moisture and Probiotics to protect and balance. This product also contains antioxidants which help to fortify the skin and improve elasticity, which all sounds good to me. I'm interested to see how my skin fairs with this, my skin is fairly oily so I'm not sure if this might end up being a little too intense...

Glow Tonic* - £18.00

Does this product need any introduction? A cult classic, this is a product I regularly use as part of my skincare routine and not to be dramatic, but I don't think I could be without it. This is a toner that cleanses and gently exfoliates leaving the skin looking radiant. It doesn't contain alcohol and is also suitable for all skin types so it really is a win-win and deserves the hype it deserves.

Glow Mist* - £16.00

This is the product that I'm potentially most excited about in this collection... It contains 13 natural oils and is said to hydrate, protect and nourish. It can be used before makeup, to set makeup and to refresh makeup, as well as on the hair! This product is said to give a glowing, luminous complexion and I cannot wait to give it a go!

Eye Reflection Shadow Palette* - £24.00

This is the Natural Beauty palette and includes 12 pinky brown shades: 7 glitters and 5 shimmers. The shadow that I'm most excited to try from the palette is Foiled Bronze, which, as the name suggests, is a stunning warm brown shade. Whilst they're not my favourite shadows on the market, I do very much like the Pixi ones, they're pigmented and blend out nicely!

Endless Silky Eye Pen* - £12.00

Now, despite calling itself a pen, this product is, in fact, an eyeliner pencil. It describes itself as giving the concentrated colour of a liquid liner but in an easy to apply pencil which sounds too good to be true, right?! Alas not. I've swatched this on my hand and I can indeed confirm that this product is just as it says it is. In fact, when I first applied it I even let out a little gasp, it's the smoothest thing ever and looks JUST like a liquid liner. Whaaaat? Where have you been all my life?

MatteLast Liquid Lip* - £16.00

I don't know about you but I'm far from over the matte liquid lipstick trend... I was sent the shade Pleasing Pink which is a really vibrant hot pink (and totally out of my comfort zone) but I have got my eye on Bare Beauty, a gorgeous nude. Despite being a matte product this actually isn't drying on the lips and sets really nicely.

Lip Lift Max* - £12.00

There is something oddly satisfying about a plumping lip gloss and I love this one. I have the shade Petal Ice which is a really pale almost transparent pinky shade that can be layered over any other lip colour. The plumping action this gloss gives is actually noticeable, but not too painful or tingly on the lips. Whilst this is slightly sticky, being a gloss and all that, it's not unbearably so, as it's still fairly light!

So there we have it, a roundup of the products in Pixi's 20 Years Of Glow Collection... Which of these products most catches your eye?
Whilst I was at uni, I really didn't wear all that much makeup. I mean, if I was going out-out I'd slap a load of foundation on my face, but, other than that, the majority of my makeup was left untouched, sat in my drawer. My housemates, coursemates and other friends all saw me without makeup at home, at the gym etc and I slowly realised over time that I didn't need to waste precious chilling-at-home-time beating my face. Helloooo extra 15 minutes in bed.

The Festive Beauty Edit - a selection of my current favourite beauty products.

However, I recently attended a beauty event at John Lewis, tried a whole selection of new products, and am very much enjoying makeup again. I'm not going to pretend to be some beauty wizard and I certainly don't have the hugest collection of products, but for today's post, I thought I'd just chat you through a small selection of the bits I am loving at the moment!

The Festive Beauty Edit

Mac Studio Fix Fluid - NW13

This is my current favourite foundation of all time (but after Santa visits on Christmas Day this might be about to change). It's really heavy-duty, lasts a really good length of time on my skin and the colour match is pretty much perfect.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - Fair 1

I'm not sure you need me to say all that much about this absolute cult classic. It's a fantastic concealer and costs less than a fiver - what more could you want?! I dread to think how many of these I've bought over the years...

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder - Transparent

Speaking of repurchases, I've also bought a fair few of these in my time. Again, an everyday staple at less than a fiver. I think I'll be 75 and still buying these to be honest.

MAC Pearlmatte Face Powder - In For A Treat

If I'm going out-out and want to look a bit more glowy all over, this is the guy I reach for. It's a really finely milled pressed powder that contains a really pretty subtle shimmer. Helloooo glowy goddess.

NYC Bronzing Powder - Sunny

Again, another product that I've been using for a long ol' time. This bronzer is both matte and a great shade for my pasty skin, I'm not sure what more I could ask for. Fellow pale humans out there, if you're looking for a new bronzer to try, I really like this one!

Pixi Glowy Powder* - Fetch

LOOK AT THAT SHADE. Is that not Christmas in a pan?! I love using this on my eyes - it's a stunning glittery copper - and I'll definitely be rocking this for the rest of December.

ELF Baked Blush - Moonlight Pearls

I've spoken about this highlight a fair few times over here on my blog and I stilllll love it. It's such a pretty champagne shade and can be built up to create the glazed doughnut look we all know and love.

Benefit Blushes - Galifornia and Gold Rush

I was always a Benefit Dandelion blush kinda gal but these two have definitely overtaken my old favourite. If I could only keep one of the two thought it would be Gold Rush; I love the peachy shade and the subtle gold shimmer running through it.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo - Tough as Taupe

Another product I use alllll the time. This cream shadow is the perfect colour for my brows, so, helloooo Anastasia Beverly Hills dupe. As you can see from the photo, this product is VERY well loved. Note to self: pick up another ASAP.

L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow - Hourglass Beige

If you can't have an eyelid covered in gold glitter at Christmas, when can you?! If you're looking for a creamy, buttery POWDER eyeshadow - this is the one. It's honestly incredible and that's all I have to say on the matter.

MAC Lipstick - Velvet Teddy

I'm not really a lipstick kind of girl but I absolutely make an exception for Velvet Teddy. It's the perfect browny pink, lasts a good ol' while on the lips and isn't too drying. If you've been living under a rock and haven't tried it yet, it definitely is worth the hype.

NYX Lip Lingerie - Baby Doll, Corset and Satin Ribbon

Now, I know I said I wasn't a lipstick kinda gal, but liquid lipsticks are another story. If you couldn't already tell, these are my favourites. They're super easy to apply, last a really long time and don't dry my lips out tooooo much. If I'm wearing anything on my lips, 99% of the time it's one of these.

And there we have it, my 2019 festive beauty picks. If you haven't quite had your Becc4 makeup fix yet you can check out last years' Festive Beauty Picks here

Ooooh, what have we here then? Is that some new Pixi products I spy... Say hello to the new Vitamin C Collection. The postman handed me this beautifully themed parcel this morning, containing five of their new products and I just couldn't wait to share them with you!

The Vitamin C range is designed with skin brightening in mind, and includes a cleanser, a toner, a serum, a moisturiser and a leave-on mask. Vitamin C is known to boost the skin's luminosity as well as promote healthy collagen production. The products retail from £10 to £26 and are all available online at pixibeauty.co.uk

Vitamin C Tonic* - £10.00

A brightening toner made with vitamin C and ferulic acid. This product is alcohol free and suitable for all skin types to be used after cleansing.

A leave-on brightening mask that contains encapsulated vitamins as well as ferulic acid and probiotics. This product should be used as the last step in a skincare routine, as it's left just to absorb into the skin.

A cleansing water that contains orange flower water, stable vitamin C, ferulic acid and probiotics. This can be applied with either cotton pads or your hands and does not need to be rinsed off.

A moisturizer that also contains vitamin C, ferulic acid and probiotics and hence is also designed to brighten the skin. This is advertised as being suitable for all skin types.

A serum that also contains vitamin C, ferulic acid and probiotics, for use after cleansing and toning. This is advertised as being proven to reduce the effects of sun damage and free radicals.

I'd like to take this moment to thank my sister for a) introducing me to this haircare range and b) giving these products to me. What a legend. Do I have to mark these as AD #gifted? Is my sister an influencer now? What is going on with the world?

Anyway, I've never been particularly loyal to any haircare brand or product and normally tend to opt for whatever is on the end of the aisle, on offer in Sains. Buy one get one free? I'll take it. A quid? Even better.

I was recently facetiming my sister and she was using the No Haircut Cream, which I'd never seen before, so I asked her approximately 8 questions about what it was... Fast forward a few days and I had the full trio to try for myself. These products are from L'Oreal Elvive's Dream Lengths range, and lemme tell you, they are fab. The whole idea behind the range is to protect and restore damaged hair and split ends, and I am HERE for it.

My hair always seems to be a bit damaged. Yet, I don't blowdry it nor straighten it, and it isn't particularly long either. I do go for semi-regular haircuts and by 'semi-regular' I mean about twice a year. (Maybe I'm answering my own questions here...) But yeah, my hair is a bit dry and damaged and so I figured these products could possibly be everything my hair was crying out for.

A review of the L'Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths Range including the shampoo, conditioner and no-haircut cream. Created for damaged hair, these products prevent breakage and reduce spilt ends at an affordable price.

Dream Lengths Restoring Shampoo

All of the products smell fab - they have a subtle fruity scent, which, honestly, doesn't last all that long in the hair, but it's nice nonetheless. The shampoo lathers really well and it certainly leaves my hair feeling clean without it feeling stripped of allllll the moisture in the world ever. I'm not sure how much more there is to say about a shampoo? It cleans my hair and it smells nice, I'm happy!

Dream Lengths Detangling Conditioner

Of the three, this product is by far my favourite. When it says it's a detangling conditioner, it really isn't fibbing. I know my hair isn't particularly long, and I'm sure people with longer hair find it waaay more of an issue than I do, but my hair does find a way to get itself pretty knotty. But, this product seems to be an absolute saviour. Whenever I use this, my hair always feels so buttery smooth and the hairbrush absolutely glides through it, no matter what state it was in before I washed it.

Dream Lengths No Haircut Cream

I love the idea behind this product - why had I not heard of it/bought it sooner?! It's a leave-in product you can apply to wet or dry hair, that claims to 'help seal spilt-ends and reduce breakage'. Now, I'm not sure if I've been using this long enough to fully report on those claims, but I have been using it every time I've washed my hair since I was given it, and so far so good. My hair looks healthier than it ever has, which is surprising considering it's taken a bit of a beating the last few weeks with all the styling it's received for the balls I've been attending!

Overall, I really am loving these products and would recommend them to anyone with a drier hair type who is on the lookout for some new products to try. (I have a feeling that these might be a little too heavy duty for anyone with really fine hair, so maybe pass on these if that's you!) The shampoo and conditioner retail at £4.99 each, and the haircut cream at £5.99, but Boots are selling the entire bundle (including a hair mask I haven't tried) for £12... So, if you're interested in trying the range then that might be the way to go...

What is your favourite shampoo/conditioner combo?
It's 2019, we all know how important an SPF is. I mean, if you don't, read this, then come back to this post. I've been using an SPF every day on my face for several years now, and, over this time, I've tried a fair few different ones. I always like to opt for a factor 50 because, if you couldn't already tell, I'm fairly pasty and I burn pretty easily. Plus, the more protection the better, right?

The Best SPF I've Bought: The Body Shop's Skin Defence. A chat about my favourite suncream for the face.

I recently bought The Body Shop's Skin Defence after seeing Caroline Hirons mention it on This Morning a few weeks ago. Which, if you haven't already seen, the clips are all on YouTube so I highly recommend you catch up on them now! That woman really does know it all when it comes to skincare, and I genuinely fully trust what she says...

Anyway, back to the product. It retails at £17 for the 40ml or £21 for the 60ml, so, it definitely isn't cheap! But, compared to skin cancer and wrinkles, I don't think it's too much of a sacrifice... Thankfully, when I bought it they were offering a 40% discount online, so definitely keep your eyes peeled for any future discount codes, they really do make a difference.

This product has a really really light texture, and unlike other facial SPFs I've used, it's not sticky at alllll. I've used this every day for several weeks now and I'm yet to find anything I dislike about it. It sinks in really quickly, doesn't interfere with my makeup and also doesn't irritate my skin in the slightest. I have also spent quite a few full days in the sun and can confirm that it does its job, I haven't shown any signs of sunburn at all!

The Skin Defence contains both UVA and UVB protection, which is very important, as well as a couple of ingredients known for brightening the skin. So, it really is a good all-rounder.

Unfortunately, this product is currently sold out online, but I figured I'd write this post as a little PSA in case anyone is after a new SPF for the summer, because this really is the best one I've ever used...
