Becca's producing fashion content over on her blog? 2020 really is the year of 'New Year, New Me' eh! I've been really enjoying shooting my outfits and posting them over on my Instagram lately, so I figured we could bring a little slice of that pie over here to my blog...
I finally feel as if I'm developing my own personal style. Granted, everyone has a personal style because we all wear clothes, but over the last few months, I really feel as if I've started honing in on pieces that are very 'me' and am compiling a wardrobe that very much all fits together.
Don't get me wrong, I love a slouchy jumper and a pair of faded, creased joggers as much as the next person but I'm really enjoying putting outfits together at the moment and buying pieces I know will get a lot of wear. Speaking of getting a lot of wear, these jeans have been on my legs SO many times that their cost per wear is at an all-time low. I mean, look at them! What's not to love, eh?
When I first bought them I wasn't really sure what to pair with them, particularly during autumn/winter, as a pale-coloured trouser has never struck me as a wintery piece. Alas, I've had no issues incorporating them into outfits, so, for today's blog post, I thought we could chat about five different ways to wear these beauties...
A Band Tee and Boots
This is an outfit I like to wear when I'm feeling cooler than I really am... I mean, a Foo Fighters tee, who do I think I am? I listen to Lewis Capaldi and Dermot Kennedy on repeat all day every day, I'm not cool enough to be wearing band tees! But, it was a couple of quid in a charity shop and a girl can dream...

The Answer To Any Fashion Related Question: Leopard Print
I'm sorry, why did I avoid leopard print for so long in fear of looking like Kat Slater?! It's 2020 and I'm channeling alllll the Kat vibes and kicking myself for all of the lost time. I love this jumper. It's cropped at just the right length and it's leopard print but a classy leopard print, if that makes sense? Although, the longer I'm sat here typing away about leopard print, the more I'm starting to question if this print is even leopard print... Is giraffe print a thing?!

A Grey Knit, Cosy and Simple
Okay, is this a bit of a cop-out outfit? Soz. I absolutely love how the cream jeans contrast with the grey of the jumper. That being said, I had no idea what colour jacket to pair with this combo hence the lack of one altogether... I'm good, but not quite that good. What kind of jacket would you pair with this outfit?

By far the smartest of all of the looks in this lookbook and potentially my favourite... This jacket literally makes any outfit look so well put together and I love it. It's not the warmest of garments, however, so I think this outfit is very much suited to Spring and the milder weather!

Can you BELIEVE that the summer is pretty much over? We're almost in September and soon the kids will be going back to school - where did June, July, and August go?! Now, as much as I love the summer, I also absolutely adore the last few months of the year. Gimme alllll the cosy clothes, candles, warm tones and, of course, CHRISTMAS! So, as sad as I am to be saying goodbye to wearing shorts and crop tops, hanging out at the beach and having BBQs, I'm also lowkey here for it! So, with that in mind, let's get into this change of season lookbook, shall we?

After not jumping on the trend for many a year, look who has finally joined the midi club!! I'm a fairly lanky human (read: I'm 5'8) and always just sort of assumed that midi skirts wouldn't suit me... Well, inspired by my gal Abi, I gave one a go and do you know what, I love it! It's so not 'me' or my usual style but I'm such a fan already! I paired this leopard print one with the darling sweatshirt, and I think it's a bit of a look. For reference, I have the skirt in a size 8 and the sweatshirt in a size small and they both fit perfectly! Midi skirts are definitely going to be my go-to clothing item over the next month or so. They're so easy to style, are light and floaty so not too hot, but there's also a fair bit of fabric to them to keep you warm. I love.
One of my favourite things about the change of season is being able to wear all of my boots again! I'm not that much of a sandal gal, so if I'm not at the beach in flip flops, you'll find me in trainers pretty much all summer long. So, when autumn starts to roll around and I can dig all of my boots out of the cupboard again, I'm pretty chuffed. September often ends up being fairly warm, so pairing skirts with ankle boots is the perfect way of transitioning from full-on summer attire to 'hello it's autumn now' attire. I'm not one for wearing fancy blouses or intricately beaded tops so this black tee is far more up my street. Anyway, this neutral coloured skirt is, in my opinion, the perfect transitional piece. It's light enough to be wearing in the warmer weather but isn't full-on summer, do you know what I mean? Dressed for summer but vibing autumn, that's my trend for September - you heard it here first!
There's a bit of a theme to this lookbook isn't there? Neutrals, skirts and dresses... How cute is this black denim dress though? Whilst I love how it looks with bare legs and trainers, as we head into winter and beyond I think it'll look even better with chunky tights, boots and a fluffy fur jacket. Are you seeing the same vision I am? And no, PLT haven't started selling puppies, Murphy just wanted in on the photo action and I just couldn't say no... Look at that little face!

Hellooooo, well isn't this exciting. We have our first piece of festival content of the year andddd it's a collaboration - would you look at that! I have two festivals booked for this year so far, the first of which is Mutiny (click here to see last year's outfit) and the second is Boardmasters. Now, I know we still have a little while until festival season is upon us - my first is the 25th May - but there's no such thing as being too organised, right?
So, what is this post, I hear you cry? Well, I've actually done my good deed for the month and have compiled a lookbook of festival outfits, each with a very different style. I mean, we've got the festival equivalent of 'jeans and a nice top' all the way to 'look at me, I'm at a festival' and a few other outfits in between. All of the items in this post are from PLT's Festival Shop and don't cost an arm and a leg, waheyyy!
The 'Jeans and a Nice Top - Festival Edition' Outfit
Now, this is exactly what it says on the tin. It's a really simple, but classic, festival outfit. We've got the staple denim shorts and a sequinned crop top - what more could you want? Paired with some glitter on the cheekbones (biodegradable glitter please, we're environmentally friendly queens) and some sunnies, this is the easiest and safest festival look of all. Also, that second picture, I couldn't not include it. It's a photo of my actual face when the DJ drops an absolute banger...
The 'I'm not that into festival fashion' Outfit
Yep, I get it, festival fashion isn't for everyone. It's almost like there's more to a festival than just clothes... Like this thing called music??? Mad, huh? Well, if that's you, then this is a really simple outfit that I think is more than appropriate for a day in a field. A simple tshirt dress, bumbag and boots - a really easy outfit to chuck on with minimal thought required.
The 'I want to look nice, like actually nice' Outfit
Or, maybe you want to make an effort, but, you don't want anything too garish? How about a black bodysuit and silky shorts? Also, we're allll about re-wearing our clothes around these parts and this outfit would not look out of place on any sunny holiday this summer, so that's a result.
The 'It's England, it might rain' Outfit
Unfortunately, the UK is not known for its tropical summers and sometimes it does decide to rain midway through a festival. It really is rude, isn't it? Well, this outfit has you covered. A sequin bralet that screams 'yay it's summer and I'm at a festival' but also a jacket, just in case. This jacket is really light so is the easiest thing to tie around your waist and forget it's there for the day if you don't need it. Alternatively, it could function as a flag to try and wave down your friends who will inevitably wander off.
The 'Look at me, I'm at a festival' Outfit
Aaaaah, my favourite look of all. Yes, it's a bit loud. Yes, there's nowhere to hide in this combo. But, yes, I absolutely love it. I had no idea what the neon flares would look like on me, but, do you know what, I'm a fan. I'm not sure if I could pull them off anywhere else but a festival, but, for wearing whilst having a boogie, in the sun with my pals - I think they're perfect. Oh, and if neon flares aren't enough, add a cow print bandeau to really make it obvious that you're at a festival...
