Sick Tings 041

3 March 2019

The glorious weather really has put me in a fab mood this week. I dug out a load of my summer clothes, hit a beer garden, went for a walk as the sun set, smelt my first BBQ and moaned about leg shaving season being upon us already. It's been a good week. I didn't ever think the weather affected me too much but maybe it does, I've had an absolute spring in my step this week and I can only put it down to the weather. Thank youuu, vitamin D.

A lifestyle roundup of my week at university featuring all I've bought, watched, eaten, seen and been up to. Featuring beer gardens, my first time trying Greek food and birthday shopping

Monday consisted of my usual day of lectures at uni but the evening saw me try something new. Now, this probably sounds mad to a lot of you but I'd never had Greek food until this week... I've never been to Greece nor a Greek restaurant but this week I went for Gyros with Lucie and had a fab time. Yes please to all of the chicken gyros.

Tuesday was just as glorious and, of course, ended in a beer garden. Yes, it's February. Yes, we've destroyed the planet. But, when it's 16 degrees and uni is done for the afternoon where better to head than a beer garden for a few pints. Well, a few pints were had and we ended up having a really last minute, lowkey house party. By lowkey, I literally mean 4 people, but the thought's there, right?

Unsurprisingly, I ended up waking up feeling pretty worse for wear on Wednesday and spent most of the morning just lounging around in bed. I had lunch and then headed to a cafe to crack on with some uni work with Lucie. For someone that only ever does work sat at their desk in their room, I actually managed to get quite a lot done. Maybe this whole working in a cafe thing does work, after allllll.

Thursday was a fairly quiet day. I had one lecture and then headed to the gym. I was planning on attempting another mammoth run but alas that didn't happen. In the evening I went for a couple of drinks with one of my gal pals and spent the evening chatting away. The one thing I'll miss the most when I leave uni is my friends, oh, and how easy it is to plan and do something. Can we all just live in Southampton forever, pls?

I woke up early on Friday morning to hit the gym with Matt at 8am. 8am!! We had a good workout and then I went to West Quay to meet my fam. We had a good ol' wander round, had lunch at Byron and then headed back home home. I had the C-Rex at Byron and let me tell you it was delicious! After such a busy week I was sound asleep by 10 and oh boy was it nice to be back in my own bed.

We woke up fairly early on Saturday morning and headed to Gunwharf Quays to do some shopping. It's my 21st birthday on the 19th of March and so I picked out a few things to receive for my birthday and I literally love them all. What I had in mind on choosing when we arrived couldn't be more different than what we left with but I cannot wait to receive them!

Tomorrow is my Nannie's birthday. So, after a leisurely morning and lunch, we're going to head to her house with flowers, cake and presents in tow. I've got my fingers crossed for a slap up roast at home home this evening before heading back to Southampton ahead of another week at uni.

What have you been up to this week?

  1. Sounds like you had a fab week Becca. I've never tried Greek food either, hmm maybe I'll have to soon!

  2. What a lovely week! I only tried Greek food a year or two ago, and I did enjoy it!
I wish I'd had chance to get to a beer garden while the weather was nice x
