Sick Tings 040

24 February 2019

Happy Sunday! This week has been a really really good week. I've done so many fun things; started a new blog series, received my semester 1 results and eaten a lot of good food. I've been loving the sunny weather we've been having but I'm very concerned that it is only February and we're already going out in tshirts... What have we done to the poor planet?!

A lifestyle roundup of my week at university featuring all I've bought, watched, eaten, seen and been up to. Featuring results day, starting a new blog series and going speed dating

Our semester one results were released on Thursday and your gal went and got a first! One more semester to go and then this whole best-time-of-my-life uni thing will all be over, sad reacts. This semester I have a few pieces of coursework, a midterm in a few weeks and a couple of exams in the summer. After that, I'm free! The theme for our grad ball is currently being decided and our invites to graduation are soon to be sent out... It's all starting to feel very real. I'm going to be let out into the big wide world very very soon.

To celebrate results, Rhiannon, Toria and I went for a nice civilized meal at L'Osteria. I had the margherita and managed to finish it all. I really think I need to start entering food eating competitions. (The pizzas are literally huge, I'd say at least 3 times the size of my head, and I have a very big head...) What an adult way to celebrate results day... Years gone past would have involved copious amounts of vodka red bull, a lot of drunken antics and a very sore head the next day. Not this year though, huh. I am well and truly a third year.

This week over on the blog I've started a new blog series which I personally think is the best thing I've ever come up with. Essentially, I'm on a mission to find the best cream tea on the south coast. One installment is already live and another is written and scheduled to go up next week... So, if any of my friends and family are reading this and want to hang out, for the foreseeable future afternoon tea is the only option, soz.

Something a little different happened this week... I went speed dating. LOL. No, I'm not having a midlife crisis and no, I didn't meet the man of my dream either. I have a whole post about my experience going live this week and it's all just a bit of a lol. The boys were trying their best but it was all just very cringe.

My gals and I went for a wander in the New Forest this week and it was so nice to just go for a wander. We had a cream tea too, obviously, and it was another strong contender.

The biggest shocker of the week, however, came about in the gym yesterday. I'd intended to have an ab session so hopped on the treadmill for what I thought was going to be a quick 10 minute warm-up jog... Well, guess who ended up running 8.5K? For those of you have been reading this blog for a while will know that I was part of the athletics club last year and could often be spotted running a 5K here and there. But, this year I haven't been doing any of that but just somehow managed to pull an 8.5K out of nowhere yesterday. I was just running and I wasn't feeling tired so just kept going and going. One of my goals for 2019 is to run a 10K - so that's starting to look more and more achievable! I better get booking that now.

What have you been up to this week?

  1. It sounds like you had a great week!
I love the sound of those massive pizzas.
I had my first week of night shifts, so I haven't been up to much other than those! x

  2. Well done on the first Becca, you're really smashing it! I really enjoyed your new series as well, such a fun idea!
