Sick Tings 011

29 April 2018

A lifestyle roundup of my week at university featuring all I've bought, watched, eaten, seen and been up to. Featuring a load of revision, picking my boat ball outfit and another 7 bone burger
Compared to last week (which you can read about here) this week has been a very calm and relaxing one. At the risk of sounding a) very British, and b) very boring, I just want to take a second to discuss this week's weather. What on earth was that?! Please, can that heatwave please come back pronto, I was very much enjoying the bbqs, sitting drinking pints in the sun and wearing alllllll the skirts and dresses. The majority of this week has been spent doing uni work, as exams are less than a month away now, meaning that the end of second year is very rapidly approaching...

Speaking of, I chose my optional modules for next year aka my last year. How quickly has time gone by? The day I moved into halls still feels like yesterday and here I am deciding my last ever modules to study. In case you're interested, I'm doing one on anxiety, one on advertising, one on sexual health, one on developmental mental disorders and the other is an economics one... A right mixed bag, hey? We still have a couple of weeks until we need to finalise our choices, but I'm pretty certain these are the ones I'm going to stick with, even if they do include group work and presentations aka the two worst things about uni.

I bought my ticket to our Psychology Boat Ball this week, and have hence been on the hunt for an outfit to wear to that ever since. I've made a couple of online orders but haven't liked any of the pieces, so the search is to be continued. Speaking of tickets, I also bought a day ticket for Mutiny Festival this week, which may or may not be occurring in the middle of my exams, oops. I mean, as long as I get my head down now and get cracking on some work I'm sure it will be fine.

Guess who watched the Greatest Showman for the second time this week? Yep, it's me. This time I saw it at the cinema with a couple of my friends and I loved it just as much as the first time around and the songs have been ingrained in my head since. To be honest I'm still pretty shocked that I even like the film at all as it's really not my usual sort of thing. Before the film we went for dinner at Frankie and Benny's and can I just say, the bolognese I had there is potentially the worst one I've ever had... So, if you ever find yourself in an F&B's opt for something other than the bolognese, you can thank me later.

My housemate and I woke up fairly early one day this week and decided to go for a run. Now, let me just be honest here, I haven't been running in a long old while, so it's fair to say that jumping straight back into a 5k at my usual pace was an absolute struggle. That being said, once we'd finished I felt really good, so it's definitely something I'm going to try and get back into the habit of doing, even if it's just on my own.

This week saw me do Laser Tag for the first time, and all I want to ask is why it's taken me this long to give it a go? I honestly had such a laugh running around with my friends, being stupid for half an hour or so. We took a minibus there and the driver had only passed his minibus test a couple of weeks previously, so it's fair to say the journey there was an experience. So much so, that we headed straight to Nandos afterwards to avoid another near-death experience. The Nandos was delicious, as usual. And I, unsurprisingly, had another mango and lime double chicken burger.

On Saturday my parents were in Southampton so we headed to 7bone for lunch. No prizes for guessing what I had. Yep, it was another Winner Winner - honestly, you can't beat it. There's just something about that chicken that's so goooood, and if you haven't been before I hightly recommend you go ASAP.

What have you been up to this week?

  2. I love your weekly update post Becca, it’s like reading a weekly vlog. Have you ever thought about starting a vlogging channel? Because I would watch your vlogs religiously! This week has been busy one, I had tons of eBay and Depop orders to post, did some retail therapy, got new passport photos done and did my first A level exam on Friday and then on Saturday, I went on a date in Soho and currently I am getting ready to head off to a Yoga class to end the week on a high
